Divorce
The legal action between a husband and a wife to terminate their bond of marriage is called a divorce. Some women and men divorce and chose to do a no-fault divorce avoiding too much airing of the dirty laundry so to speak. If one party can prove that the marriage is irretrievably broken, the divorce can move forward with less hassle and quicker as a no-fault divorce. A legal separation is similar to a divorce in that papers also need to be filed. The difference is that after the papers are filed, they are still married but they are not responsible for each other.
There seems to be critical times for women and men divorce. The first hurdle is overcoming the high conflicts and then the loss of intimacy and connection with each other. When people feel this is not possible, divorce happens. Do the research and find a healthy way to deal with the never ending stress before you broach this subject with your soon to be ex spouse.
Some women and men divorce and think of it as a way to move forward financially. Many feel that the efforts made to save the marriage haven’t worked so it’s time to follow through with a divorce. Be confident, know what you want and be firm throughout the divorce. Be firm to be fair, especially if you have children.
Unfortunately, the average American statistic has fifty percent of all marriages ending in divorce, with the average length of each marriage at about eight years. Women and men divorce each year. They both married and should have been building a personal relationship between the two of them. As two loving people, working and managing a household, doing everything possible to improve the common good and bring out the best in each other. If one makes the decision to dissolve the marriage, take a clue from the famous Bob Hope and at least be a sport and give thanks for the memories. Take the high road and remember what it was that first attracted you to them. Hold that thought, smile, say thanks and then move on. Forgive and release.
